At the time of the acquisition, Nuance announced that any subsequent versions of the product would be released under the Dragon moniker, bringing the product into alignment with Nuance’s voice recognition software for Microsoft Windows. The product is the successor to MacSpeech Dictate 1.5, software acquired by Nuance in February 2010. In late September, Nuance Communications announced the release of Dragon Dictate for Mac 2.0, a voice recognition system for MacOS X users running the latest version of the operating system, Snow Leopard.
